Olympic National Park wants public's help with vision

Clallam County, WA - Beginning with a session Monday in Port Angeles, a series of eight public workshops to discuss the future of Olympic National Park are scheduled for this week.

``These meetings are a first step to gather public input towards planning for the future of Olympic National Park,'' said park Superintendent David Morris.

``We encourage anyone with an interest in Olympic to attend one of these meetings, and to share their thoughts and ideas.''

Park service officials are working on a general management plan that will guide the park for the next 15 to 20 years. They are also working on an environmental impact statement analyzing the effects of that plan.

Written comments may be sent to OLYM_GMP@nps.gov@nps.gov or to Superintendent, Olympic National Park, 600 East Park Ave., Port Angeles, Wash. 98362.

Comments received before Sept. 30 will be used to help develop the plan.
