SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER http://seattlep-i.nwsource.com/local/40142_tl225.shtml Forest retained, thanks to partnership Tuesday, September 25, 2001 SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF An 80-acre stretch of land along Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie will remain forested, free from the prospect of housing developments, thanks to a partnership between conservation groups and local government agencies. The parcel, called Kimball Creek, connects with the Rattlesnake Mountain Scenic Area. Its preservation will provide wildlife corridors and protect water quality. The non-profit conservation organization Trust for Public Lands, the U.S. Forest Service, the state Department of Natural Resources, King County and the Mountains to Sound Greenway teamed up to buy and preserve the land.
