State Senators Endorse Steve Alexander for Position 4, Supreme
Court November 1, 2002 Bremerton, WA – The Steve Alexander Campaign today announced that Senators Harold Hochstatter and Bob Oke have endorsed Steve Alexander, official write-in candidate for Position 4 on the Supreme Court. “The message to Washington voters is clear: You do have a choice for Position 4 on November 5th,” said Alexander.
Senator Harold Hochstatter represents the 13th Legislative District, which covers parts of Benton, Grant, Kittitas, and Yakima Counties. He has served in the Senate since 1992 and served as Republican Pro Tempore in 2001. He served one term in the Washington House of Representatives before entering Senate. Senator Hochstatter and his wife Paula make their home in Moses Lake.
Senator Bob Oke represents the 26th Legislative District, which covers parts of Pierce and Kitsap Counties, including Port Orchard, Gig Harbor, and parts of Tacoma and Bremerton. He has served in the Washington Senate since 1990, and served as Republican Whip in 1993 and 1994. He and his wife Judy make their home in Port Orchard.

Steve Alexander filed with the Secretary of State October 8th as a write-in candidate for Position 4 on the Supreme Court. His opponents are Charles W. Johnson and Pam Loginsky. Steve holds a B.A. from the University of Vermont and a J.D. from Boston College Law School. He served in the 8th U.S. Army in Taegu, South Korea in 1965-66. He worked as clerk-bailiff for King County Superior Court in 1970- 71, and worked for the Kitsap County Prosecutor’s office from 1971-80. From 1980-82 he served as a judge for both the Kitsap County District Court and Bremerton Municipal Court, and served as Kitsap County District Court Judge from 1983-99. He currently serves as Judge Pro Tem in Kitsap and Mason Counties. He lives with his wife, Sandra, in Bremerton. They have four children.
