TACOMA - Starting Saturday, each member of the Puyallup Tribe will receive $2,000 a month. For a family of four, that would be $96,000 a year.

The tribal council voted to increase payments from revenue generated by the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma. Payments had been $200 a month.

The tribe has 2,700 members. That adds up to $65 million a year.

In July, the tribe plans to break ground on a bigger casino – a $200-million hotel and restaurant complex.
