Sequim businessman wins write-in position for Clallam County Conservation District Supervisor

The Clallam Conservation District (CCD) held an election March 8 for a supervisor after the resignation of Matt Hines of Sequim. Vying for the position of Supervisor was Bob Forde and Ben Smith, both Sequim citizens. The election held at the Port of Angeles building from 3 to 7 pm, hailed 76 voters. Forde won the election with a vote of 47-29.

The CCD offers many different volunteer programs, to help county landowners to conserve natural resources. The CCD covers all of Clallam County including large tracts of land to city lots, held privately or by
government agencies. Every year the CCD provides information and services on topics such as: soils
information, stream/wetland protection, stream and riparian habitat restoration, pasture management bank stabilization, native planting, irrigation water management, and forest stewardship.
