Port Angeles: Water is clean, report says2001-07-17by BRIAN GAWLEY from Peninsula Daily News http://www.peninsuladailynews.com/sited/story/html/60191 PORT ANGELES, WA -- City residents can rest assured they are drinking clean water, according to an annual city water quality report. ``Our water is very clean. There's nothing in it,'' said Doyle McGinley, city water/wastewater collection superintendent. ``The report's clean and simple.'' The report, required under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act, includes an analysis of water sources, water quality and a comparison to federal and state regulatory standards. City personnel collected more than 300 water samples from throughout the system in 2000, the report said. Two samples tested positive for bacteria, the report said. But mandatory repeat samplings were negative. Repeat samples were tested for coliform, fecal coliform and E. coli. In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. Section 107, any
