PUYALLUP, Wash. -- Pierce County Sheriff's detectives are asking for help finding a rape suspect who attacked and raped a woman near the San Souci Trailer Park in Puyallup.

The attack occurred Saturday, May 12 between 6 and 6:30 p.m., while the woman was walking on a road in her neighborhood near the trailer park, located at 11209 127th St. E in the South Hill area.

Authorities say the suspect approached the victim from behind, grabbed her throat and pushed her into the woods. He allegedly punched the 23-year-old woman repeatedly and raped her at knifepoint.

"He went the extra step to hurt her, used a weapon, and did things that were totally unnecessary, so it was obviously someone who has a lot of issues who we need to get picked up," said Ed Troyer, Pierce County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male with no accent between the ages of about 25 to 35. He is 6 feet tall, of medium build, and has short dark hair. He is clean-shaven and has a hoop earring in one ear.

Detectives say the attack was so violent, it increases the likelihood the man could attack again.

Police are offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest. Call (253) 591-5959 with information.
