Wild Olympics Campaign, land use issues focus of town hall meeting

Forks, WA - An ad hoc town-hall type meeting on the Wild Olympics Campaign, the Shoreline Master Plan and other local land use issues is set for Tuesday evening, Aug. 2 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Forks Community Center, 91 Maple Ave.
Keynote Speaker Scott Roberts, from the Freedom Foundation of Olympia is to speak on what are being called “Agenda 21” policies including: Wild Olympics Campaign, the Shoreline Masters Plan, and Sustainability, and how they would affect the Olympic Peninsula, and what can be done about it.
Carol Johnson, Director of the North Olympic Timber Action Committee, is set to speak on how the policies under discussion will affect the timber industry and the West End economy.
Bill Pickell, former Executive Director of Washington Contract Loggers Association, is to speak on the reintroduction of wolves into the North Olympic Peninsula.
Jim McEntire, Republican candidate for Clallam County Commissioner Position No. 1, is to give a brief speech.
A question and answer period is to follow the talks by the main speakers.
