"Restoring" the Elwha by putting in a levee?
Whoa! A front page story in the Peninsula Daily News reveals how the NPS [National Park Service] is “restoring the Elwha river to it’s pre-settlement state” by building up the levee.
Was there a levee there in “pre-settlement” times?
Don’t think so.
This is just one more of many cases where “environmental” doings do not match “environmental” speech.
