Our initiative for this year, "Spirit of 695" I-747, The Right to Vote on

Property Taxes Initiative, limits property tax levy increases to 1% per

year unless voters OK a higher increase. And that's all it does. Not only

is I-747 a "single subject" initiative, it's a "single section" initiative.

I-747 amends one statute and lowers the current limit to 1% per year.

For decades, cities and counties and the state have increased property

taxes the full 6% per year and those increases have compounded every year.

That's why your property taxes skyrocket year after year. I-747 limits

property tax increases so working class families and senior citizens living

on fixed incomes aren't taxed out of their homes. We want Washington to be

a place where not just rich people can afford to buy and own a home.

In early May, the Washington State Republican Party overwhelmingly endorsed

our initiative. Although they've backed every initiative we've done, this

is the first time they've come on board BEFORE we've gotten on the ballot.

So they'll be able to help us get signatures. This follows a critical

endorsement from the State Libertarian Party at their big convention last

April. More and more people

and organizations are jumping on our bandwagon, but getting I-747 on the

ballot is still extremely tough. More signatures and more money are needed.

The deadline to turn in 250,000 signatures is less than a month

away! Petitions are available by calling Monte Benham at 509-783-3829 or

email info@permanent-offense.org.

Consider how many hundreds (and many times thousands) of dollars our tax

relief effort will save you, your family, your friends, and your business

in the future.

Best Regards,
