County proposes changes to development code; hearing is Monday, Jan. 9 at courthouse

Jefferson County, WA - Regulations governing the development of land in Jefferson County could see some changes next year under a proposal from the county's Department of Community Development.

The list of regulations, known as the Unified Development Code, includes rules on zoning, critical areas, land division, permit review processes, comprehensive plan amendment procedures, and development and performance standards for a wide variety of land-use activities.

People are invited to comment on the proposed changes at a public hearing before the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners set for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9 at the Jefferson County Courthouse.

The proposed amendments to the Unified Development Code are available for review at the Jefferson County Department of Community Development office at 621 Sheridan St. in Port Townsend, or at www.co.jefferson.wa.us/commdevelopment/udc.

Public comments can be submitted until the close of the hearing on Jan. 9.
